We all love those post-game shots of our favorite soccer stars hugging and kissing their significant others after a big match, and with today being Valentine’s Day, we are going to talk about some of our favorite power couples! If you can’t get enough of the soccer love, check out our faves from 2022 and 2023.

Smith and Wilson have been together since locking eyes from across the training room in their respective ice baths. The college sweethearts have been together for five years while they were both playing their own version of football at Stanford. As a couple of professional athletes, it’s been beautiful to see these two support each other through lows and celebrate the highs, both personal and professional.

Rachel Daly and Sarah Mayling

Aston Villa teammates Rachel Daly and Sarah Mayling started dating last year, one season into playing together. Because they’re a relatively new couple, we don’t have a ton of info just yet but they do pop up on each other’s Instagram from time to time!

Pernille Harder and Magdelena Eriksson

Pernille Harder and Magdelena Eriksson will be celebrating ten years of being a power couple this year. The two actively advocate and campaign for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility on and off the pitch. The two met while playing at Linkoping FC in Sweden and have recently been traded from Chelsea to Bayern, clearly the couple that plays together stays together.

Kiwi striker and Australian club player Hannah Wilkinson has been with her girlfriend, Australian dance coach Katherine Martin, since 2021. Martin is a constant on Wilkinson’s social media. There is even a pinned story dedicated just to her favorite moments of Martin. Not only is Wilkinson scoring goals for Melbourne City, but she is also absolute couple goals with Martin.

We’ve talked about Tziarra King and Jess Fishlock on here before as one of our favorite power couples, but we had to add them again now that they’re wives! The couple tied the knot in Fishlock’s hometown in Cardiff back in December, and they both looked gorgeous. These teammates turned best friends turned partners will always have a special place in our hearts—and on our lists.

Speaking of newlyweds, USWNT and NC Courage goalkeeper Casey Murphy also got hitched this winter. The wedding to her college sweetheart, Chris Mirabelli, took place just before the holidays, and they celebrated their love with a four-tier cake and a milk and cookie cart.

Lindsey Horan announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Tyler Heaps just before the World Cup, that’s quite the exciting summer! The two share a love of soccer as Tyler also competed collegiately and used to work for the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Daniëlle Van De Donk and Ellie Carpenter

International stars Danielle Van de Donk and Ellie Carpenter are the latest couple to go from teammates to soon-to-be-wed. The Dutch midfielder and Australian defender have been teammates on the Lyons since 2021 and rang in the new year with their engagement announcement. We love seeing a couple who support each other on and off the field.

Nilla Fischer and Maria Michaela

Legendary Swedish national player Nilla Fischer has been married to her wife Maria Michaela for over a decade. Fischer and Michaela were together for about half of Fischer’s professional career, and the midfielder turned center back and even opted out of her final EUFA Euros because she didn’t want to be away from her family. Fischer credits her wife, who works with victims of domestic abuse, with making her a better soccer player by providing her with a lot of perspective.

Michelle Cooper and Lily Nabet

Now, this one isn’t exactly confirmed-confirmed, but there have been some Instagram posts that have gotten us wondering. Both former Duke athletes Michelle Cooper, now a KC Current player, and one of the newest Angel City players, Lily Nabet, have both curated birthday posts to the other with that oh-so-suggestive red heart emoji. Will they be the new Preath, or is a hard launch coming our way? Stay tuned.
