10 Songs Inspired by the Stars of the USWNT

The women of the USWNT inspire us every day, so we made a playlist about them. Each player has a unique flair that we’ve translated into music. Here is our list of songs that remind us of some of the amazing women on the USWNT. Give them a listen before you play and feel inspired by some of the greats of the game.

Megan Rapinoe “The Man” – Taylor Swift

Megan has been considered one of the greatest in the game for a long time now. She grinds off the field just as hard as she does on the field. Taylor Swift’s lyrics fit so perfectly to all of the work Rapinoe has been putting in. Normally I would pair Rapinoe with something edgier, but this is an excellent song with a killer message.

Alex Morgan “Higher Power” – Coldplay

Alex Morgan is always a joy to watch. Her skills are insane and it’s hard not to get wrapped up in her game. She’s a player who never hangs her head and is always ready to keep going. A rhythmic pop song that goes as hard as she does is a must on this playlist.

Christen Press “Superbloom” – MisterWives

I don’t know about you, but when I see Press with the ball I feel confident and energized. That’s the same way this song makes listeners feel. A more chill beat but with unexpected horns and beautiful vocals, this song just feels like Christen Press.

Lindsey Horan “Everybody Talks” – Neon Trees

One thing that’s great about this song is the way it builds to the chorus. It’s a super energetic song that never misses–much like Lindsey herself. Plus, the title of the song lends perfectly to Horan’s reputation on the field. When she’s out there, everybody talks.

Rose Lavelle “Skate” – Silk Sonic

I have been obsessed with this song lately, just like I was with Lavelle when she made her USWNT debut. This song is smooth and makes you want to move, just like Rose. She skates through defenders and straight to the goal.

Becky Sauerbrunn “High Horse” – Kacey Musgraves

This song is slow and steady, just like Sauerbrunn. Sauerbrunn is always humbling strikers when she’s defending the backline and that’s what this song is all about. It’s a great cadence for cardio work and will definitely get stuck in your head after one listen.

Kelley O’Hara “Destroyer” – Saint Motel

The chorus of this song really says it all: “I don’t break hearts, I destroy them.” O’Hara destroys everyone she comes up against and has definitely broken a few hearts with her amazing move and knack for winning. A dancey rock song, this song will make you feel like you can do anything, just like O’Hara.

Julie Ertz “Count on Me” – Bruno Mars

There are few players who are more proven and dependable than Julie Ertz. Whether it is for her club team or the national team, Ertz is steadfast. No matter where she’s needed–defending or putting it in the net on a set piece–she’s there. We can always count on her.

Tobin Heath “Don’t Save Me” – HAIM

This HAIM song has such a wonderful snap to it, there’s something about it that just reminds me of Heath. Maybe it’s the way she cuts the ball or the way she changes pace on a dime. The entire vibe of this HAIM song just fits Heath too well to not be on this list.

Crystal Dunn “A-O-K” – Tai Verdes

Because Dunn is incredibly fierce and intense on the field, we know everything will be A-OK when she’s on the ball. This song has a great message and just reminds us to find joy in everything. Watching Dunn own the field is definitely something that brings us joy.

Bonus Track: Carli Lloyd “See You Again” – Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth

With her retirement still fresh in every soccer fan’s mind, it’s hard to think of any song but this one when it comes to Lloyd. One of the greatest players to ever lace up for the USWNT, Lloyd will be extremely missed on the pitch but never, ever forgotten.
