The Best 4 Women’s Soccer Clothing Trends This Fall

Fall always brings out the best parts of the year: crisp weather, seasonal treats, Halloween, and all new fashion. We’ve got a trend report for you after combing through just about every Instagram page for the USWNT players and big athletic retailers. These are four of the best fall soccer clothing trends to sport this season.

Bold and Bright Cleats

Big brands like Nike and Adidas are showing many bright red and deep purple designs in their newest cleats. These cleats are showy, sometimes down to the metallic heels. Whether it’s a solid color or a multicolored design, cleats this season are loud. If you’ve been shy about it before, this is the season to make a statement with your boots.

Angel City Merch

The soccer world is absolutely abuzz with the announcement of Christen Press being named to the Angel City FC roster. Even though the club is a long way from playing their first game, now is definitely the time to snap up some merch. Even if it’s just a T-shirt with the club’s crest on it, it’s a must-have. Bonus points: NWSL merch can be worn on and off the field. All it takes is a little styling.

Looser-Fitting Tops

The next soccer clothing trend is looser-fitting tops. For a while, we had been living in the era of tight training tops and workout tanks. But lately, players have been shifting to a looser fit on the training field. A lounge vibe is coming to practice this fall. Something that doesn’t cling or bunch up during your finest moves. Pretty basic designs or solid colors are generally what’s out there at the moment.

Bike Shorts

We’ve seen big baggy shorts, we’ve seen Soffe shorts, but now we see a happy middle ground with bike shorts. Bike shorts have been on the rise for a while because of their coverage and lack of slipping. The lounge top and bike shorts combo have appeared on several USWNT and NWSL players in recent history; just check out Abby Dahlkemper’s ‘fit after her trade to the Dash. It’s a look that can go from practice to homework time with no effort at all, and it’ll be comfy no matter where you are.

Now, remember, these are just trends. You don’t have to go out and change your regular practice kit or cleats. But if any of these are things you’ve been looking to try, now is your moment to ride the trend and see how they feel.
