It’s already the second month of 2024! This means we’re inching closer to the start of the NWSL season and getting to watch our USWNT faves. The USYNT is off to a tremendous start in the U-17 CONCACAF Championships. They beat Panama 13-0. Alex Pfeiffer and Kennedy Fuller both netted four goals each. The amount of talent on this team is special; a handful of the players are already playing professionally or have just recently signed pro contracts.

Up next for the USYNT is Canada. They’ll be battling for the top spot in their group.

Low of the Weekend

The Athletic’s new interview with Lindsey Horan came out last week, and let’s just say many people were not thrilled with Horan’s comments about the intellect of American soccer fans. “American soccer fans, most of them aren’t smart,” she said. “They don’t know the game. They don’t understand. (But) It’s getting better.”

News of the Weekend

Bay FC is making some sneaky good moves! It seemed like the team was getting off to a slow start, but in the last two weeks, they’ve signed Asisat Oshoala, Jen Beattie, and Deyna Castellanos. All three are coming from across the pond in Europe: Oshoala played for Barcelona, Beattie for Arsenal, and Castellanos for Manchester City.

The last-place team in the Liberty A-League, Canberra United, just beat the number-one team in the standings, Melbourne City. And not just by a little luck, they beat them 3-1!

What to Look Forward To

Keep your eyes peeled! The 23-player USWNT roster for the W Gold Cup will be announced sometime this week.
