If you saw that latest USWNT roster drop, then you’ve probably been wondering the same thing as a lot of people: who is Korbin Albert? Youth Soccer

Albert grew up in a suburb of Chicago and played her youth career with Eclipse Select Soccer Club, where she was named Player of the Season twice.

During this time, Albert played for and made a name with the US National youth programs. So clearly, she’s been a power player from the start. This comes as little surprise when you look at her stunningly athletic family: an All-American track star mom, Janet, and three of her five siblings also playing collegiate sports in their day—special shoutout to her sister Teagan hustling as a two-sport athlete at Olivet Nazarene

College Career at Notre Dame

In 2021, Albert joined the Fighting Irish of Norte Dame as their newest midfielder and really hit her stride. Over her two seasons with Notre Dame, accolades basically rained down on her.

She was named to the Nationwide Freshman Best XI her first year and the third-team All-ACC. But she was just getting started. In her sophomore year, she was named first-team All-ACC and All-American, ACC’s Midfielder of the Year, and was even a finalist for the Mac Hermann Trophy.

In her first NCAA Tournament, Albert scored four times in Notre Dame’s three games, but the Tarheels ultimately eliminated them in the quarterfinals.

Signing with PSG and Looking Forward

There is little doubt that Albert and the squad would have been able to work some magic this season, but instead, this powerhouse seized a huge international opportunity and signed with Paris Saint-Germain for a two-and-a-half-year contract. She started with PSG at the beginning of this year and has already become something of a regular in the starting eleven. Albert has proven incredibly valuable at midfield, thanks to her flexibility and athleticism
