Soccerista United’s Speaker Series, with Erica Suter

Girls Soccer Network is ecstatic to launch an addition to the Soccerista United program, the Speaker Series! We’ve invited innovators and leaders in the soccer world to talk to our community about their expertise. These speaking events will happen four times throughout the year, with our first one happening on Sunday, April 23, at 8:00 PM ET.

Erica Suter (@fitsoccerqueen) is a remarkable woman specializing in speed and strength training for young female soccer players. After graduating with her MS in Exercise Science and Sports Performance Enhancement from John Hopkins University, where she also played soccer, Suter launched her mission to help young athletes become strong, resilient, and creative through exercise. All while inspiring them to love movement and sports–to not see these as obligations, but rather, enjoyable escapes from the stressors of life. Go to her website to learn more about her and her expertise.

She has done this by hosting both online and in-person training, where she works with athletes worldwide to increase their speed and strength to make them better athletes. She also has a podcast–Fit Soccer Queens, a blog, and has published a book, The Strong Female Athlete, which is an evidence-based and experience-based book for youth female athletes to improve speed, reduce injury, and increase strength. Suter gives a deep understanding of female athlete growth and maturation, anatomy and physiology, nutritional needs, menstrual cycle considerations, and performance training progressions.

Erica Suter has been featured in numerous media outlets such as US News, Vitamin Shoppe, Women’s Health Magazine, and many more. We are so excited to bring her to our community and teach our Socceristas!

This first Speaker Series event will be free and open to all members of the GSN community and will take place via Zoom. We will record the meeting and make it available to all Soccerista United members to watch back at any time.
