10 Top Under-20 Soccer Players to Pay Attention to in 2025

In addition to up-and-coming stars in the NWSL and the USYNT, the 2024 womenโ€™s NCAA Soccer season was filled with success and unpredictability. There were wins, losses, upsets, injuries, transfers, and everything in between. While it is impossible to predict who will be the next USWNT stars, here are ten top U-20 players to pay attention to in 2025.

Courtwright is a sophomore midfielder for Texas Techโ€™s womenโ€™s soccer team. Courtwright has been an integral part of the team since her arrival. Her freshman year was legendary as she played and started in all 23 matches of her freshman season. She ended the season with five goals and eight assists, making her an elite player among other first-year students in the nation. Although she underwent a preseason injury during her sophomore year, Courtwright has proven that she is working hard to come back strong in 2025. It will be exciting to watch the Dallas native continue her journey with Texas Tech and her consistent features with the United States Youth National Team.

Faasse is a junior midfielder/forward for the University of North Carolina. She has made a distinctive name for herself with many 2024 accolades, including the Mac Hermann Trophy Winner and TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year, following UNCโ€™s win in the National Championship. Faasse has shown growth over her last two years at UNC and seems to be improving exponentially, making her a key player to pay attention to in 2025.

 

Teagan Wy

Wy has been one of the most consistent youth national team goalkeepers we have seen. She has been a rock for the national team for six years from the U14 level. Collegiately, at the University of California, Berkeley, Wy is known for her shutouts and keeping goals out of her net. Wyโ€™s consistency as a top keeper in the nation is often rewarded and is a wonderful representation of womenโ€™s soccer in the United States.

 

Mia Bhuta

Bhuta, a midfielder and sophomore for Stanford, has also been a part of the United States Youth National Team throughout her career. She became the first Indian-American to represent the USA national team at the World Cup at any level at just 16 years old. Bhuta was part of the College Cup this most recent season and was No. 14 on TopDrawerSoccerโ€™s Postseason Top 100 players. Just halfway through her collegiate career, Bhuta has already made a massive impact on the field, proving to be a vital player to watch in 2025.

Rader, a current junior at Duke, has been a Youth National Team squad member since 2018. During her freshman year at Duke, the midfielder received the ACC Freshman of the Year award. She also received accolades in 2023 for her Academics and Honor Roll. Rader unfortunately experienced a serious injury before the 2024 season, but given her successful surgery and motivation, she is proving that she will return stronger than ever. Rader is putting everything into her recovery, making it clear that she will be back on the pitch and is one to look for in 2025.

Riley, a junior at Florida State University, played her first season with them in 2024. Transferring from Gonzaga, Riley had her first goal in an opening-day victory at South Florida and her first assist just three days later. She was a part of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Womenโ€™s World Cup roster, helping take third place in the tournament. After her first season with the Seminoles, the forward was named to the All-WCC First Team. Her senior year will be one to watch for in the 2025 season.

Dudley, another forward at Florida State University, is a sophomore who has gained recognition and accolades for her ability to lead the team to success. She was named, in 2023, the ACC Freshman of the Year and the NCAA Tournament Offensive Most Outstanding Player. Additionally, Dudley was also a part of the 2024 FIFA Womenโ€™s World Cup, playing as a forward for the United States. Dudley has had a promising career so far and still has two more seasons with the Seminoles, making her a player to look out for in 2025.

 

Tessa Dellarose

Dellarose is a junior at the University of North Carolina. She is a versatile player, both a midfielder and defender for her team. Dellarose was the co-captain for UNC, leading them to the 2024 National Championship. She was just one of five players who played all 27 matches and was ranked third on the team. Additionally, Dellarose has been a consistent player for the Youth National Team and played all five games in the U-20 CONCACAF Championship.

Martinho is a redshirt freshman at Duke. She has been one of the most talented players on the Youth National Team. She was one of the youngest on the U-20 squad in the spring, but as she headed into her freshman year at Duke, she suffered an injury that put her out for the season. This next season will be her opener for the team and no doubt one to pay attention to. She is an incredibly creative player on the ball, always getting herself out of tight situations and selflessly creating opportunities for her teammates. Martinho will be back better than ever and will definitely be making a huge impact on the Duke womenโ€™s soccer team next 2025 season.

Klenke is a current junior at Notre Dame. Internationally, she helped lead the U-20 Youth National Team to their recent bronze medal. At Notre Dame, Klenke was named one of the All-ACC honorees and the 7th-best freshman in 2022 by Top Drawer Soccer. The midfielder is foundational in the center for her team, not only scoring but distributing the ball and having composure. Her senior year will be one to pay attention to.
