All socceristas know that there are tons of apps available for just about anything you could need, but which are the best soccer apps? This is a time that comes with all kinds of electronic support and supplementation for players and coaches alike.
What used to only be done in our heads or on a whiteboard on the side of the pitch can now be done on a tablet or smartphone. Apps are seriously amazing things that can help you track your own stats, learn from your team’s games, predict possible outcomes, and get you extra help on and off the field. Here are five great soccer apps to use.
DribbleUp Soccer
Our first app is DribbleUp Soccer. Virtual personal training apps have only become more popular in the last couple of years, but DribbleUp Soccer focuses on the sport. The app uses a special smart soccer ball in order to track movement.
Additionally, this app is loaded with workouts, exercises, and drills, and it’s interactive. While there are plenty of places to get printouts and inspiration for drills, DribbleUp Soccer actually provides feedback.
Do your drills in front of a camera and let your digital coach show you how to improve. Every routine comes with a video demo, and all workouts are tailored to the data recorded from your own attempt.
24/7 Football Coach
While technically designed for coaches, nothing is stopping a team or a captain from using this app. Really, anyone interested in a tactical advantage should check this app out.
24/7 Football Coach allows you to run play simulations of all kinds on your tablet or smartphone. Just place your players, the ball, and where movement should be happening and see how your play shakes out.
This will help streamline your practice sessions and fine-tune your playbook with minimal effort.
My Soccer Stats
Keeping track of your team’s stats can feel like a full-time job, but thankfully apps like My Soccer Stats make it much more straightforward. It’s essential to keep track of the details so you can see how much you’ve grown.
My Soccer Stats keeps track of teams and player statistics like wins/losses, point totals, player percentages, and more. Add as many teams and players as you want–for our socceristas who just can’t get enough of the sport.
My Soccer Stats compiles the information you put in into helpful graphs and also allows you to check up on the stats of other teams who also use the app.
Football Dood (Soccer)
Another coaching app that helps with running plays in two dimensions, Football Dood, has a few more bells and whistles.
Football Dood allows users to animate their plays and create a video as well as just images. Furthermore, these videos and pictures can be saved for future use after everything has been perfected.
Coaches and players also have the option to add notes to these plays to make it a more interactive or comprehensive play-making experience.
My Personal Football Coach
We may have saved the best for last with My Personal Football Coach. This app was designed by Saul Isaksson-Hurst, a former skills coach for Chelsea and Tottenham.
My Personal Football Coach puts Premier League-level training, tips, and coaching at your fingertips. Through the app, you can download practices to take on whenever and even gain access to Isaksson-Hurst’s revolutionary training programs. He has trained some of the best, and now he is offering to train you as well!
Along with the app, My Personal Football Coach has a great website with tons more resources.
If you haven’t already been taking advantage of the soccer apps that the app store has to offer, it’s about time you do. We use our phones for everything else nowadays, so why not use them to help your soccer game?
