It’s finally October, and Halloween is just around the corner! There are always plenty of costumes to choose from, but may we suggest some of our most iconic soccer pros? Here are seven soccer players we’d like to see trick or treating this Halloween.
Megan Rapinoe
Rapinoe has so many iconic looks from across her career this is a treasure trove of a costume idea. You could do the brightly colored hair or the bleached pixie with the headband. Carry around a World Cup trophy replica and tell everyone, “I deserve this!”
Marta
Marta is one of the pioneers of the game, wearing a full face of makeup while breaking records on the pitch. Marta was famous for a bold statement lip and a slicked-back ponytail; pair that with a Brazil jersey, and you’ve got the look.
Alex Morgan
I’m sure there will be plenty of pink pre-wrap this Halloween, given her recent retirement. Morgan is a simple but recognizable costume to put together, especially when paired with her famous tea-sipping celebration.
Brandi Chastain
With one of the most iconic moments in women’s soccer, Chastain is always a great go-to for a soccer costume. Pick up her full 99er kit and a black sports bra, and you’re good to go. Just make sure that when you get your favorite candy while trick or treating or you win a game at the Halloween party, you drop to your knees and yell.
Trinity Rodman
Much like Rapinoe, you’ve got a lot of options for a Rodman costume. We love a player who can turn a look, and Rodman is that girl. Whether you want to sport her slicked-back ponytail or the colorful braids, you’ve gotta have a gem on your tooth for it to really be Rodman.
Sydney Leroux and Ali Riley
Because soccer is a team sport, we had to have a best friend’s costume on here. Aesthetically, all you’ll need for Leroux and Riley is an Angel City kit, a certain hairstyle, and some temporary tattoos. But to really send this one, you have to bring energy. Leroux and Riley are two of the biggest personalities in the league right now, especially when they’re working together.
