In fact, the items you take with you to and from practice and games are probably personal to you, and there might even be specific reasons you carry the items you do. What’s inside a Soccerista’s bag can say a lot about who they are as a person and player. In this spirit, we asked OL Reign’s Bethany Balcer what she keeps in her soccer bag. Here’s what she said:

My fanny pack

“It’s kinda funny that I have a bag inside a bag, but my fanny pack houses all my credit cards, an extra phone charger, and my mask, so I can never leave my house without it.”

Reusable silverware and straw

“You never know when you’re going to need a spork! If I’m out and about, I always try to use my reusable silverware to cut down on plastic waste, so when we get our team meals after training, I’m always using these.”

Floss

“I’m obsessed with flossing my teeth, and if I feel something in my teeth, I have to get it out then and there. Always gotta be feeling fresh!”

Crossword Puzzle Book

“Since going pro, crossword puzzles have become a new hobby of mine. Especially when we’re on the road, at airports, I’m always doing a crossword.”

Elastic Hairbands

“Elastic hairbands are always needed for game day hair; whether it’s for a teammate or me, we always use them!”

Water bottle

“Hydration is key! You’ll never see my bag without a water bottle inside of it.”
