The amount of attention the women’s game gets could always be better, but the number of games and leagues we have around the world is an encouraging sign. Not only that, we finally have the ability here in the states to at least watch different leagues and see something other than just American soccer. The beautiful game is international and brings the world together. Hopefully, this will bring more fans together as well. That’s why we try to get you goals from around the world because everyone deserves to be appreciated. So, let’s enjoy the best women’s soccer goals from the NWSL, Frauen Bundesliga and D1 Arkema.
5. Yuki Nagasato – Chicago Red Stars
Okayyyy @Yuki_Ogimi what a strike!! 🔥 @chicagoredstars | #MKOT pic.twitter.com/1u7vjcWiBv

Yuki Nagasato has Chicago fans wishing she never left with how her return to the club has gone. Nagasato ultimately put Angel City away and pushed the Red Stars into the playoffs with this goal. Her spacing, movement, and ability to make life difficult for defenders always make her a tough assignment.
The defender had no clue whether Nagasato would cut back inside, and she did the right thing by forcing her onto her left foot in that situation to force the tougher shot.
Still, Nagasato executed it perfectly, and the keeper had no chance of keeping it out. Chicago is a dangerous team in the postseason, thanks partly to Yuki Nagasato.
4. Felicitas Rauch – VFL Wolfsburg
Stunning. Absolutely stunning. 👏 #WatchWithAta #DieLiga @VfLWolfsburg_EN pic.twitter.com/vJGeZCINvy

Wolfsburg generally isn’t talked about as much around the world as Barcelona, Chelsea, or Lyon, but their domestic and Champions League record indicates they are a premier club as well.
The dominant German club is similar to Lyon in the sense that they can recruit top-level talent to go with their national team stars. Felicitas Rauch is one of those stars with numerous appearances for the national team.
The multi-purpose player has been lined up all over the pitch. This time she came forward from the back to produce a moment of sheer quality. Rauch somehow chips this over the keeper inside the box, which is insanely difficult. But, especially to do it without taking a touch, it’s a sublime chip that any player would dream of scoring.
3. Morgan Weaver – Portland Thorns
No I don’t think you understand… we’re obsessed 😩 @morganvweaver x #BAONPDX pic.twitter.com/sVf48UGklI
— X – Portland Thorns FC (@ThornsFC) October 1, 2022
Morgan Weaver continues a wonderful run of form and is the true x-factor for this team. With teams sure to focus on Sophia Smith in the playoffs, Weaver’s ability to exploit the extra space she gets could be the difference for the Thorns.
The striker can produce moments like this as she shows repeatedly. It’s hard to tell whether this was an intended shot or not, but what matters is the defense and keeper were fooled. Everyone was expecting the cross, and instead flew into the net before the keeper could even react. Morgan Weaver is red-hot and will make the Thorns really tough to beat if it stays that way.
2. Marisa Viggiano – Houston Dash
Marisa Viggiano puts the @HoustonDash on the board ‼️#HOUvWAS | #HoldItDown pic.twitter.com/Tl5hF4NWtU
— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) October 1, 2022
Marisa Viggiano has come a long way from being a fourth-round pick of the Orlando Pride. Viggiano continuously improved during her time in Orlando and showed she can be a solid midfielder in the NWSL. Houston traded for her and is already seeing a great return from the former Northwestern Wildcat.
This was a great piece of skill, and she took what the defense gave her. Notice the defender stepped to her right to deny Viggiano a path to the end line for a cross. Viggiano countered with a lovely touch inside but still needed to execute the curler, which she did to perfection.
Houston has a great young player in Viggiano who will help them in their playoff run, which is right around the corner.
1. Christy Gavory – Le Havre
Le Havre make it 2-2 against PSG and what a way to do it!#WatchWithAta #D1Arkema pic.twitter.com/1RVMYGC3K1
— ata football (@atafball) October 2, 2022
Le Havre has been having a tough go of it in league play, but they grabbed a big result against one of the better teams in PSG. After trailing most of the game, Christy Gavory provided a special moment to bring her team back into the match.
First, she does the dirty work by taking the ball away from Delphine Cascarino before charging forward to attack. Then, once Gavory found herself in space, she took a quick peek up at the keeper’s position and didn’t hesitate. As soon as she saw her chance, Gavory, in one fluid motion, chipped the keeper from outside the box, and the keeper knew from the moment the ball was in the air that she was beaten.
The technique and quality of Gavory are World Class and a goal that Le Havre will savor for quite some time.
