The world might have stopped to watch the World Cup final over the weekend, but even a game that big doesn’t stop women’s soccer from advancing. The UEFA Women’s Champions League and Liberty A-League in Australia were still in action with some amazing games and goals. So let’s catch you up on the best women’s soccer goals worldwide. 

5. Adriana Taranto – Western United FC

Western United capitalized on a turnover with great effectiveness, and it was Adriana Taranto who provided an excellent finish. A quick touch from her teammate set her up well, and Taranto let the ball run across her body to line up the shot.

The Aussie international then came back toward the near post with her shot rather than try and curl it and fooled the keeper with a powerful strike.

These types of team goals are severely underappreciated in today’s game. The three Juventus players set up a triangle first to spread out the defense, and then Lineth Beerensteyn slowly trotted into space to create a square.

Once the ball was worked around, Beerensteyn provided a sublime pass in a tight window to put Barbara Bonansea through, who fed Cristiana Girelli for a composed finish and her hat-trick. High-quality skill all around, Juventus made it look rather easy.

Emina Ekic was a big signing for Melbourne, coming over from Racing Louisville. The young star has already shown she might have a big year in the A-League.

Ekic picked up the ball inside the box and put the defender on skates with a nice Cruyff turn and quick two touches to set her up for the shot. Ekic showed she has the technique to keep her knee over the ball, most would’ve hit it over the bar, but she found the roof of the net in devastating fashion.

Vesna Milivojevic is just 20 years old and the future of the Serbian national team. One great thing about the A-League is how so many young players get the opportunity to grow and show their skills in a major league.

Milivojevic knew exactly what she wanted to do with the ball once she received the cutback pass. One touch to set her up, and then the attacker ripped it from the edge of the box. The keeper had no chance of saving this one.

That is a great goal from a burgeoning star in the A-League.

Chloe Logarzo continues to play at a high level and is one of the mainstays of the A-League. Year in and year out, she’s as reliable as ever.

If given a chance to shoot from long distance, Logarzo will be sure to take that chance. Notice how opportunistic she is after the failed pass. The ball deflects right back into her path, and she goes straight for goal. It sits up nicely for her to take the shot off the bounce, resulting in a screamer finding the top corner.
