Once in a blue moon, a keeper might pick up an intentional pass back from the defender, which is not allowed. Unfortunately, in this case, the defender appeared to get caught between two minds while shielding the ball. The keeper then wasn’t entirely sure whether it was a back pass or not and picked it up.
An indirect free kick is then awarded to the other team from where the ball was touched. Amy Harrison didn’t have many options based on the angle she had, yet somehow she found a way through.
Someone has to touch the ball before it can be shot at goal, her teammate takes a quick touch to set her up, and Harrison squeezes it through for the goal. A tough goal to score and well taken from Amy Harrison.
4. Taylor Bell – Charlton Athletic
Just @emma_foll going on her travels 🤩
Great play from @CAFCWomen 👏#ContiCup pic.twitter.com/PwHsSnnTdl

Taylor Bell was in the right place at the right time to tap this ball home, but Emma Follis did all the hard work and made it look effortless.
Watch how she takes the ball from one defender and then proceeds to nutmeg another, which allows her to clear Crystal Palace’s midfield with loads of green grass in front of her. Once she gets the ball out wide, Follis receives it back, and her shot deserved to go in with how she bossed that entire move.
The keeper made a great save, but Bell was there to reward Follis’ effort in creating the goal. Charlton would advance in the FA Continental Cup thanks to that goal.
3. Aileen Whelan – Leicester City
This move from @LCFC_Women 😮💨#BarclaysWSL @AileenWhelan pic.twitter.com/Mk0xqwVp4X

This is some of the best interplay you’ll see from a team in tight spaces.
Leicester City looked like Barcelona for a brief moment with this quick, one-touch play. Four touches between four players in the span of four to five seconds is something special and incredibly hard for any team to replicate on the pitch.
Aileen Whelan was able to fire home the shot to complete the sumptuous move for Leicester City. That’s a clinic for any team looking to break down a defense with quick ball movement.
2. Gabrielle George – Everton
Oh wow @gabsgeorge, that is an absolute stunner 🤩#BarclaysWSL @EvertonWomen pic.twitter.com/9KasRECdvg
— Barclays Women's Super League (@BarclaysWSL) January 15, 2023
Gabrielle George kept it simple and clean with this goal; the defender in front of her could only hope to contain her. George dips her shoulder and gets the defender to turn the wrong way and try to slide in with a last-ditch tackle.
That didn’t work as George’s touch gave her enough room for the strike, and she displayed tremendous technique to put her foot through the ball and end up in the top corner. That’s How to Strike a Football 101.
1. Zara Kramžar – AS Roma
SHE'S JUST 17!

At just 17 years old, Zara Kramžar clearly has a bright future based on her ability to finish in front of goal. The teenager made no mistake about it when she got her chance and smashed her shot off the crossbar and in.
However, the reason the goal takes the top spot is for something that no one seems to be talking about. The backheel assist from Manuela Giugliano is sublime. An effortless little flick with her back to the ball is what puts it perfectly in the path of Kramžar.
Giugliano made it look so easy it got missed by the commentators and everyone alike. It should get way more recognition which is why it comes in at No. 1 this week.
