Women’s soccer action from around the world offered us plenty of outstanding moments to savor. There were a wide variety of goals to choose from this week, and we had to whittle it down to five.
If there’s a goal that you feel like we might’ve missed or one you think should be an honorable mention, be sure to start the debate with us on social media, @girlssoccernetwork, and @girlssoccernet on Twitter.
Let’s look at this week’s best women’s soccer goals list featuring moments from the NWSL, FA Cup, Frauen Bundesliga, and D1 Arkema in France.

This is quite a magnificent strike from the German international on a near-impossible angle, for her to put this in the far corner while running onto the ball and a defender nearby is an amazing feat.
The angled shot off the post is a great start to this week’s list. Wolfsburg also showed why they’re the best team in Germany, and they’re tough to beat at the moment.
4. Ashley Sanchez – Washington Spirit
If you know you know. Yes, we will be replaying this goal all night 😤

Two words–world class. Unless there was a slight miscommunication on where the wall should be, Ashley Sanchez made it look way too easy.
A quick look-up allows Sanchez to line up the free-kick and immediately sweep it over and around the wall, also bamboozling Ashlyn Harris. The keeper literally stared as the ball went into the net, it gave the Spirit a lead they would never relinquish, and they’re still in the semifinals hunt.
3. Guro Reiten – Chelsea

Guro Reiten’s rich run of form continued in the FA Cup semifinal against Arsenal in a critical moment. This was the goal that gave Chelsea the lead and surely swung momentum.
Reiten only needed two quick touches before firing in a rocket of a left-footed shot into the top corner, but it still required some finesse as well. Reiten’s skill is among the best in the world and makes Norway a scary team at the next World Cup.
2. Catarina Macario – Lyon
🚨 GOAL STRAIGHT FROM A CORNER 🚨@catarinamacario sends Lyon in front in spectacular fashion!#WatchWithAta #D1Arkema @USWNT pic.twitter.com/Yl4A9zx4Uy

Catarina Macario can do no wrong at the moment; everything she touches seems to find the back of the net. That includes goals directly from corner kicks, otherwise known as an Olimpico. However, it did look like the keeper got a hand to the ball. There was still enough bend and pace on the shot for it to find its way in.
Once the keeper was committed and then slightly out of position, that was all it took for the ball to find the back of the net. When it rains, it pours, and that’s what it’s like in the goal department for Catarina Macario.
1. Emina Ekic – Racing Louisville
What's better than one angle of @emina_ekic10's goal from last night?

This goal isn’t just amazing for the skill required but for the fact that the game was in the balance. Trailing 1-0 with 15 minutes left to play, Emina Ekic lined up this free-kick from long distance.
If Chicago won this game, they would’ve been the first place team over Kansas City, but this goal spoiled that. There didn’t appear to be much swerve on the strike, but the power and accuracy were simply perfect. From the moment it left her foot, the ball flew into the top corner, and the keeper had no chance.
The atmosphere in the arena was electric after that goal went in. That’s just a taste of what Racing Louisville is bringing to the future.
