As we head into the international break, domestic leagues such as the NWSL and FA WSL were in action, with plenty of goals to choose from. Whether’s it’s great one-on-one finishing, a long-distance goal, or absolute belters, we at GSN have got you covered. Here’s a closer look at the best women’s soccer goals from the NWSL and FA WSL.
5. Sydney Leroux – Orlando Pride

Sydney Leroux’s career renaissance continues as she scores one great goal after another. This goal was vintage Leroux; how often have we seen her cut onto her right foot and bend it into the far corner? A lot. Her effort was even nicer because defenders were in the area, and she knew she had to get the shot away quickly. Because of that, Leroux took the shot while falling down and still converted it, a brilliant strike.
4. Kayleigh Green – Brighton and Hove Albion

This is a great team goal from Brighton and Hove Albion. It shows how fast the game of soccer is and how teams can strike in an instant. Brighton had a throw-in cornered off into their own half, yet one beautiful long ball over the top had Kayleigh Green off to the races. The keeper was already off her line, and a second defender was closing in on Green. Most players would try to keep going with the ball and out-run defenders. However, Green noticed a second defender was coming to close her down, and she pulled the trigger early. Everyone was caught out of position, and it ended up being a great goal and celebration from Kayleigh Green.

Fran Kirby is simply magic when she’s on the ball, and she continues to produce the goods time and time again. This goal was so unexpected that the camera operator missed the ball going into the goal! Kirby showed off her skill with a nifty turn and strength by keeping the defender at bay while also pulling off this ridiculous chip shot. Everyone waits for her to put in a cross, but instead, Kirby never picks her head up and chips it into the far post. The crowd went crazy when the ball went in, summing up how awesome this goal is.
2. Ella Toone – Manchester United

Ella Toone scored a great goal here, but Katie Zalem deserves a ton of credit for the work she did as well. Zalem received the pass near midfield and kept driving forward with it. Surprisingly there isn’t a Leicester City shirt within five yards of Zalem, allowing her to pick out Ella Toone. She’s one of United’s best young players, and at age 22, her future will continue to look bright with goals like these.
1. Danielle Carter – Brighton and Hove Albion

Danielle Carter is a long-time player of the FA WSL who spent more than a decade with Arsenal. After spending last season with Reading, she moved on to Brighton and Hove Albion. In their latest game, they picked up three points, and this goal from Carter was a big reason why. This is such an audacious attempt from Carter that maybe only a handful of players with similar quality would try it. Carter sees the keeper cheating slightly towards the middle for a cross, and who wouldn’t? Carter scoring from that angle is absurd. Well, she made the absurd a reality by curling it with her left foot around the keeper on the near post and into the goal. A jaw-dropping moment in the FA WSL and good enough for the top spot on our list.
