Women’s soccer action from around the world means an unlimited number of options to choose from. Whether it’s the NWSL Quarterfinals, FA WSL, Frauen Bundesliga, D1 Arkema, La Liga, or NCAA Soccer, it’s a great time of the year to be following the women’s game. There were some magical moments across the board. Let’s look at the best women’s soccer goals from Europe and NCAA women’s soccer.ย

5. Audrey Viso – Appalachian State

Audrey Viso is a graduate transfer from Clemson who showed a great moment of quality and balance for Appalachian State. When the ball pops up in the air that high, it’s usually tough to take down cleanly with a sea of bodies around. However, Viso managed to touch it down with the outside of her right foot and then quickly turn and fire the shot with her left foot. It’s a tough move for anyone to finish, but Viso made it look easier than it actually was; a really nice goal.ย

4. Dominique Janssen – VFL Wolfsburg

Dominique Janssen is one of the better tacticians in the world and is still entering her athletic prime at age 26. This cracking goal is further proof that she is one of the best from free-kicks. Janssen lined up from what appears to be around 30 yardsโ€“maybe moreโ€“and calmly stepped up and whipped it into the top corner perfectly. It takes many hours on the training ground to execute it in the way Janssen has… just world-class.ย

3. Kayla McKeon – Arkansasย

Kayla McKeon is Arkansas’ star performer who has come through for the Razorbacks on multiple occasions. In the SEC Tournament against Auburn, McKeon put an exclamation point on the result with this strike. It was as clean of a strike as you’ll see because it just nestled nicely into that upper 90 of the net, similarly to Janssen’s goal. The angle normally would call for a cross into the box, but McKeon went for it and got it just right; that’s how players dream of bending a goal in like that.ย

2. Emely van der Vliet – UT Martin

It does not get much better than this from Emely van der Vliet of the Netherlands. The midfielder is at least 30 yards out with a defender running in to block the strike, yet she still chose to rip this shot from long distance. The ball flew off her foot and into the roof of the net in an instant before anyone could catch their breath. This goal would give UT Martin the lead with six minutes to go in the match.ย

1. Clara Robbins – Florida State

This is a goal that I’m still watching to figure out how Clara Robbins could do this while falling down. Robbins was in the right spot at the right time and capitalized on a heavy touch. Immediately, Robbins knew what she wanted to do with it, and that was to go for goal. The keeper was off of her line but only slightly; the window that Robbins had to aim at couldn’t have been the biggest. Yet somehow, as she strikes the ball and falls to the ground, it ends up being inch-perfect and in the back of the net. This would be the game’s only goal, and Clara Robbins once again showed up big for her team. Florida State extended its record to eight ACC Conference Tournament Titles.
