6 Brands To Support This Pride

Pride Month is upon us, which means it’s time to grab some new gear! I’m sure you’ve seen a few big retailers drop their Pride collections, but don’t add them to your cart just yet. Corporations celebrating Pride is great, but if you really want to celebrate and give back to the LGBTQ+ community, check out these brands instead!

Chromat

Chromat is a swim and athleisure brand that celebrates all body types, skin colors, gender, and sexual identity. Founded in 2010, Chromat has always been about inclusivity and style. They have always been loud about issues in the queer community, championing Black, trans, and non-binary individuals. Chromat uses its voice and its brand to support the LGBTQ+ community 12 months out of the year, not just one.

HumanKind Swim

A bit like Chromat, HumanKind Swim is a gender inclusive, fluid thinking swimwear and athleisure brand. Think of HumanKind as the more laid back option to Chromat’s more avant garde looks. Founded by Haily Marzullo in 2018, this brand was created to reinvent swimwear for LGBTQ+ individuals. Beyond swimwear, HumanKind also offers some exceptionally comfy looking sets, sweats, and hoodies.

Tomboyx has all of your sports bra needs covered. This brand is all about color and fun patterns and driving home their message that you can wear what you want and be who you are. Their tees are so comfortable any soccerista could easily wear one as a practice shirt. All of their apparel are made with comfort and fun in mind, for everyone. For this queer owned and operated brand, it is always Pride with Tomboyx.

Devious Designs

Devious Designs has fewer options than most of the other brands on this list, but their message is crystal clear. This brands advocates for both the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. Each month, Devious Designs chooses an LGBTQ+ BIPOC charity to receive a portion of its sales. Their designs are simple yet powerful, much like their message.

Todd Brandon Morris created OUT-FIT in 2014 to promote physical and mental fitness. OUT-FIT’s clothes were designed for athletes and gym-goers who want to wear their identity with pride. Their vision doesn’t stop at creating great workout clothes, they also offer daily workouts and actively advocate and stay up to date on LGBTQ+ issues. OUT-FIT practices what they preach and were founded on the belief that everyone deserves a safe space, for fitness and mental health.

Superfit Hero

Superfit Hero is woman-owned and queer-operated and caters to plus-sized athletes. Unlike so many corporate retailers who dabble in plus-size fashion, Superfit Hero specializes in it. They offer extremely cute sets that feature the latest trends and hottest colors. Their sizes go all the way up to 7XL, but they use their own size chart that starts at EarthFit and goes up to InfinitiFit. You will feel completely supported by supporting this brand.

The best way to show support this Pride is to patron the businesses owned and operated by and working with the LGBTQ+ community.
