High of the Week
North Carolina won their 23rd National Championship with a 1-0 win over Wake Forest. It was their first National Championship since 2012. UNC had a terrific season with a 22-5 record under head coach Damon Nahas. Nahas spent the 2024 season with the interim tag before being named the head coach right before the National Championship game. Olivia Thomas scored the lone goal off a free kick to earn the Tar Heels the trophy.

Low of the Week
Angel City announced that they had parted ways with head coach Becki Tweed. Tweed spent half of the 2023 season as the interim head coach before being named the permanent head coach at the end of the 2023 season. Angel City had a disappointing 2024 season with a 7-13-6 record. The club announced that Eleri Earnshaw will serve as the interim head coach.

FIFA announced this week that the 2027 Women’s World Cup would occur between June 24 and July 25. The tournament will be hosted by Brazil.

Mayra Ramirez forced the turnover and then took a beautiful long-range shot to chip the keeper. Chelsea went on to defeat Twente 6-1 in UEFA Champions League play.

Signing of the Week
The San Diego Wave announced this week that they have signed Quincy McMahon on a three-year deal. McMahon played collegiately at UCLA where she appeared in 86 games for the Bruins. She started every game during the 2022 season for UCLA, helping them win the National Championship.

Win of the Week
Everton got a 2-1 win over Manchester City this weekend. It was just their second win of the season and they’re currently sitting in ninth place. They got goals from Lucy Hope and Honoka Hayashi in the win.
