Preseason rosters were released last week, and along with the slew of social media content, many Angel City fans were wondering about Christen Press. Press came out on Twitter stating she’s been absent from training and is still rehabbing her knee from multiple surgeries.
News of the Weekend
The 2024 NWSL schedule dropped last week, and it got us more hyped than ever for the season to begin.
It all starts with a newly formatted Challenge Cup–one match between NWSL Champions Gotham FC and the NWSL Shield winners San Diego Wave.
Then, the regular season gets underway with games Wednesday through Sunday across Amazon Prime, ABC, Ion, EPSN, CBS Sports Network, and the NWSL’s brand-new streaming service, NWSL+.

The Chicago Red Stars may have finished last place last season, but they are wasting no time putting together an amazing roster. After re-signing Mallory Swanson, signing Sam Staub, and drafting Leilani Nesbeth in the last month, they just signed talented German defender Maximiliane Rall.
Signing of the Weekend
The Thorns re-signed 38-year-old defender Becky Sauerbrunn and the GOAT, Christine Sinclair. Sauerbrunn and Sinclair are both signed through 2024, with this being Sinclair’s last season before retiring from professional soccer.
