Girls Soccer Friendsgiving on GSN

Hello GSN Community! November is the month we make a special point of diving into gratitude with Thanksgiving on the calendar at the end of the month. So, we had a thought. This idea was sprung when I asked a bunch of Soccer parents what they wanted to see more of from GSN โ€“ and the answer was community and connection for the girls!

So, even though we canโ€™t all get together and hang out in person, letโ€™s come together for a special virtual Friendsgiving! It will take place on Zoom on Wednesday, November 20th, at 7ET. This event is for players, parents, and coaches who’d like to attend. Sign up here!

Theme: Soccer Gratitude and Community

Friendsgiving is a chance to recognize the support and inspiration we give one another, both on and off the field. From teammates who motivate us to reach new heights to coaches and families cheering us on, community is the backbone of our success.

The event will:

  • Open a community dialogue about our gratitude for soccer
  • Dive deeper on how we express gratitude
  • Expand on ways to show gratitude to our bodies
  • Explore the appreciation within our community in both positive and negative ways
  • End in a Q&A session for our Socceristas

We have three incredible hosts who will each talk about how gratitude and community have helped them get where they are.

Letโ€™s face it:

Womenโ€™s Soccer is on the Rise

This year has been incredible for womenโ€™s soccer. Around the world, the sport is experiencing record-breaking viewership, attendance, and support. The 2023 Womenโ€™s World Cup set new records with over 1.9 million fans attending in person and over 2 billion tuning in globally! Here at home, the National Womenโ€™s Soccer League (NWSL) also saw tremendous growth, with more teams, fans, and young players joining the game every year. Weโ€™re part of a movement thatโ€™s stronger than ever, and thatโ€™s something to be proud of!
