How to Watch the Euros

The Euros will be taking place in England throughout July and throughout the country. From July 6 through the 31, you will be able to catch your favorite European national teams duking it out for the top spot. The groups are already selected, and Portugal was recently chosen to replace Russia in the tournament.

Group A will kick off the tournament with host country England facing off against Austria at 8:00 AM CET. ESPN owns the rights to the tournament and will be showing all 31 matches both on their network and through their ESPN+ streaming service.

You know the drill; four groups of four will battle it out in bracket play. Then, the top two of each group will head to the playoffs, and only one team will be crowned champion.

Group A:ย
  • England
  • Norway
  • Austria
  • Northern Ireland
Group B:ย
  • Germany
  • Spain
  • Denmark
  • Finland
Group C:ย

Teams to Pay Attention to

One team to watch is the tournamentโ€™s defending champions, the Netherlands. Their first game of the tournament, on July 9, will be against another powerhouse, Swedenโ€“the current Olympic silver medal holders. Though they havenโ€™t won the Euros in the last forty years, we know that this current Swedish team is not to be taken lightly.

Germany has taken this tournament eight times since the first tournament in 1984, breaking their six-time winning streak in the 2017 tournament. Germanyโ€™s toughest competition in their group will likely be Spain, so you wonโ€™t want to miss that match on July 12.

Seeing Northern Ireland in this tournament will be interesting because this is their first time qualifying for a major tournament. Be sure to tune into their Group A matches on July 7, 11, and 15.

There will undoubtedly be some upsets and surprises in this tournament, just like any other, so you donโ€™t want to miss a game!
