Our Soccer Sibling Goals This National Siblings Day

There is nothing in the world quite like having a sibling. These special people have the ability to both encourage and annoy you, and you just canโ€™t live without them!

You might bond with your sibling over something specific, whether it be a hobby, tv shows, or even sports. If youโ€™re lucky, you might even have had the chance to play your favorite sport and train alongside them! Some of the best soccer players in the world have grown up playing with their siblings, and we love to see it! Here are some of our favorite soccer siblings.

This is the sister duo that probably made everyone wish they, too, had a sister to play professional soccer with. What tops playing in the same professional league as your sister? Playing together on the USWNT! The Mewis sisters accomplished both of those achievements and have learned the balance between playing as rivals and playing as teammates. However, Kristie is now playing the role of supportive sister as Sam continues on her journey of recovery from her recent surgery.ย

Sometimes called the next โ€œKristie and Sam,โ€ this pair of sisters are the new face of womenโ€™s soccer! The Thompson sisters made history last year by becoming the first high school athletes to sign a NIL deal with Nike. These siblings are no strangers to playing with the U.S. National Teams, Alyssa having made her USWNT debut last September and Gisele playing with the U-17 squad for the FIFA U-17 Womenโ€™s World Cup and the Concacaf Womenโ€™s U-17 Championship last year.

The James siblings went from playing soccer together in their yard to becoming the future of English football. Both brother and sister play for each respective Chelsea FC, one of the best clubs in the world for both the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s sides. Beyond that great feat, they have become the first brother and sister ever to play for the senior English National Teams! They can be spotted at the otherโ€™s games when they are able to make it. Talk about sibling love and support!

Another English football pair of siblings are Millie and Jake Turner. Millie plays for Manchester United WFC, while her younger brother Jake is a goalkeeper for Gillingham FC. Where Millie celebrated 100 games with the same club earlier this year, Jake is relatively new to Gillingham and has recently become a starter. Although their games are too distant to be physically present, they continue supporting each other from afar!ย

Though she doesnโ€™t technically play anymore, Eniola Aluko is a big name in the game, and her brother Sone is following in her footsteps. Eni played for Chelsea WFC and was the first-ever sporting director for Angel City FC. At the start of this year, she left the position to move back to England, putting her close enough to watch her brother play for his club, Ipswich Town FC.ย
