Soccerista’s Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger are Engaged!
It’s finally happened. After 9 years together, soccer super couple Ashlyn Harris and Ali Krieger announce their engagement. My skin is clear. My crops are flourishing. Flowers have physically manifested in my home.

On Wednesday morning, the couple confirmed their engagement to People magazine. It’s a love story nearly a decade in the making. The pair met during USWNT camp. “We always sat next to each other on the bus and on flights… We had so much in common.” Ashlyn says. “It was her big, beautiful brown eyes. I just felt like every time she was talking, I wasn’t even paying attention to what she was saying.” Oh Ash, we’ve all been there. Meanwhile, Ali mentions it was Ashlyn’s creativity that caught her eye.
People Magazine reports that the two Soccerisetas have been engaged since September. Ash popped the question in September during a beach side picnic. Ali had no idea! “I was really surprised because it just seemed like another weekend getaway for us. I wasn’t really thinking about it at all!”
And she said yes!
The couple plans on getting married at the end of this year. It seems the ceremony is the only thing missing. Krashlyn have already started their family. They’ll have their hands full with fur baby, Logan, for now. Ali says kids may be in their future.
While the couple never confirmed or denied their relationship, fans always had a feeling. The pair mention they did not make their relationship public because they wanted no distractions. Football was the most important thing. This shared goal resulted in a World Cup championship for the both of them. That takes bae goals to a whole other level.
Why tell us about it now? They could have just as easily kept it from us. “We were like, now is the right time. Finally, after all these years, I just feel like I don’t have to hide anything or feel like I’m not living up to the community I’m in.” Ashlyn says.
We have always been with her whether she was public about it or not. We understand the need for discretion. We’re thankful they shared this with us and we’re so happy that they feel this freedom. Plus, we’re so proud of them and wish them nothing but happiness.
And now with this weight off her shoulders, Ashlyn can focus on the World Cup. We know her biggest fans will cheer her on from home.
The news of their engagement brought cheer and waves of congratulatory messages. Some of us even cried. But these are tears of joy. In a world where the narrative for lesbians often ends in tragedy, their love brings hope. This isn’t fantasy. This is the real life and they have their happy ending. Maybe, we can have that, too.
