This week’s list features some unreal strikes from incredible players around the world. We’ve got a stunning volley from the Championship in England, a cheeky backheel from an FA WSL star, a spectacular solo run from Italy, a long-range chip from England, and a gorgeous curler from Australia. Here are the Top 5 Goals from the Barclays Championship, Barclays Women’s Super League, Liberty A-League, and Serie A Women.
5. Sophia Pharoah – Southampton

Southampton picked up a huge win over the weekend as they dispatched Watford 3-0. Sophia Pharaoh was at the heart of the win, scoring twice. This goal showed off a high degree of difficulty because it was a one-time volley. Watch how Pharoah adjusted to the ball in midair and managed to redirect the ball with the instep of her foot all in one move. That’s very hard to get right, but Pharoah made it look easy.
4. Bunny Shaw – Manchester City

Bunny Shaw might be why other FA WSL defenses are losing sleep over trying to defend her. Shaw’s last game has all the evidence you need, including this goal. Most players in this situation would panic or wait for the right time to shoot. Shaw managed to go with the flow, and as soon as her back was turned from goal, the Jamaican executed a perfect backheel that fooled everyone. Bunny Shaw is HER, she needs to come to the NWSL one day.
3. Elisa Polli – Inter Milan

Inter Milan had a 1-0 lead they desperately wanted to hold onto. Roma was pressing forward, looking to equalize, and that’s where Elisa Polli took advantage. Now, no one could’ve expected her to go on the run she did. Three different defenders tried to stop her, the same defender even got two chances to take Polli off the ball. Instead, Polli kept going, and when she made it to the 18-yard box, she kept her composure and fired the ball past Roma’s keeper. A solo spectacular, one to remember for Elisa Polli.
2. Taylor Hinds – Liverpool
An unbelievable finish from @taylorhinds_ 🚀#BarclaysWSL @LiverpoolFCW pic.twitter.com/tfNfpI8HVx
— Barclays Women's Super League (@BarclaysWSL) January 21, 2024
Liverpool’s captain came through for her team in a big way and actually gave her team the lead against Manchester City. Taylor Hines was calm and collected as she ran onto the ball that was cleared poorly. Hinds’ chip attempt had a low margin for error, if she under hit the ball it was either going to be saved or cleared off the line. Instead, Hinds made perfect contact, and the ball glided into the net, a stunning finish.
1. Emily Gielnik – Melbourne Victory
It’s the 94th minute. It’s 2-2. And Matildas star Emily Gielnik unleashes THIS 🤯🚀🔥
A simply outrageous strike to win a 3-2 thriller for @gomvfc – you can’t ask for a better way to score your first of the season!#CBRvMVC #ALW pic.twitter.com/iSGh4aKW1v

The Melbourne Victory emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle against Canberra United. The reason they won the game was because of this mind-blowing goal from Emily Gielnik. Watch the second camera angle from the replay to truly get a sense of how much this ball curved in the air. When the ball leaves Gienik’s foot, it looks like it’s going wide left and into the crowd. Somehow, the ball kept bending in midair until it found the top corner. This was an audacious strike, to say the least, but it paid off for Emily Gielnik; this definitely takes the top spot on this week’s list.
