The W-League and FA WSL seasons are heating up with each passing week. As teams jostle for their league’s top spot, the competition increases in fervor. As a result, we saw some great moments on the pitch in both England and Australia. Without further ado here are the top five goals of the week from the FA WSL and W-League, including a Christen Press goal.

Christen Press – Manchester United
It's a second #BarclaysFAWSL goal for @ChristenPress! ? pic.twitter.com/puR0N63Jj3

Christen Press netted her second goal for Manchester United – in some style – against Everton. Her first touch was exquisite, she created space away from one defender and was almost bumped off the ball by another. Yet, she kept her balance and composure to tuck it past the keeper well, it’s a great sight for Manchester United fans to see her score. More Christen Press goals, please.

Talk about a way to burst onto the scene. Mariel Hecher played in the second tier of Australian soccer and has made the most of her opportunity in the W-League. She opened up her body for the shot and had to go all the way across the keeper. Somehow, her powerful strike arrowed off the far post and in. A goal she’ll never forget.

Michelle Heyman – Canberra United
.@Mheyman23 turned around, saw the opportunity and went whack! ?

Michelle Heyman continues to terrorize opposing defenses in her return to the W-League this season. The striker netted a hat-trick and her first goal was the best of the lot. After the ball came back to Heyman from the corner, she had a lot of work to do. She turned quickly and fired off a powerful left-footed shot. The rest of the W-League will have to find some way to slow her down, she’s unguardable at the moment.

Melanie Leupolz – Chelsea FC
STRIKE! ?
Melanie Leupolz opens the scoring in the London derby in style! ?#BarclaysFAWSL pic.twitter.com/a4zvEMhI0x

One of Chelsea’s latest signings has already rewarded her new team with a phenomenal two-goal performance. Tottenham gave her far too much space, with a clear view of the goal. The state-of-the-art soccer balls used nowadays give them a life of their own. Leupolz’s shot looked as if it was heading straight towards the keeper and then completely curled away from her. So much so, the keeper couldn’t even give a courtesy dive. Just what Chelsea needed, another world-class player in their team, an embarrassment of riches.

Yana Daniels – Bristol City FC
WHAT. A. STRIKE. ?@Daniels_Yana with a stunning effort for the hosts!#BarclaysFAWSL pic.twitter.com/bPx3oEORVC

Yana Daniels is an established Belgian striker who has played in England since 2017. Bristol City had Daniels on their roster for one season before she left for Liverpool. Now, she’s back with BCFC and scoring worldies. Daniels turned her defender but wasn’t able to shake her completely. Yet, the Belgian went for it from distance and it was as clean a strike as you’ll ever see. The ball rocketed off the crossbar and in to give Yana Daniels the goal of the week.
