Top 5 Goals: NWSL Matchweek 8, FA Cup Final, Liga F, D1 Arkema

Europe’s domestic leagues are coming to an end, which has resulted in some incredible matches with the highest stakes. The NWSL continues to roll along with plenty of drama and amazing goals. This week’s list is another great set of goals for you to enjoy. Here are the Top five Goals from the NWSL Matchweek 8, Liga F, D1 Arkema, and the FA Cup Final.

5. Vilde Bøe Risa – Atletico Madrid

Vilde Bøe Risa is an underrated star for Norway who gets overshadowed by Guro Reiten and Ada Hegerberg. Risa provided a moment of magic in the Madrid derby against Real Madrid. Most players from her position would try to bend the ball toward the far post, but Risa outfoxed the keeper and ended up going to the same side to score. It’s a peach of a goal that helped Atletico Madrid beat their archrival in a close game.

4. Olivia Moultrie – Portland Thorns

Olivia Moultrie has been quietly growing and getting better year in and year out with Portland. The wunderkind is only 18 and still has room to reach even bigger heights. Goals like these further highlight how great of a player she is at such a young age. The ability and the vision to see the space open up in front of her and the confidence to take the shot without taking a touch are amazing. At the top of the 18-yard box to go for a curling, chipped finish is such a high degree of difficulty, and only a handful of players would even attempt this. Moultrie has that little bit of extra soccer IQ and ability that others don’t have at her age, so she’s a future for the USWNT.

3. Amel Majri – Lyon

It doesn’t seem right to put this goal at No. 3 because it is incredible, but the other two goals were just as incredible. Majri reacted quicker than the opposition and didn’t hesitate to shoot. The French international saw her target and picked it out perfectly. No defense or goalkeeper in the world can stop that. Majri is a magician with the ball and truly one of the best in the world; she never ceases to amaze with the goals she scores.

2. Ella Toone – Manchester United

Manchester United’s women made history by winning their first-ever FA Cup in style. Ella Toone scored the best goal of the game, and it was an exclamation point, to say the least. Here’s every angle of her incredible strike from long range. This is becoming an Ella Toone trademark. If she sees any kind of space in the 18-30 yard range from goal, she will take it to try and bend the ball in the top corner. This time, a defender was forced to eat grass after sliding in and completely missing Toone. This allowed Toone to line up the shot, and the end result was a perfect curler to help secure Manchester United’s first FA Cup trophy.

1. Cameron Tucker – Utah Royals

Cameron Tucker is back in Utah after starring at BYU for multiple seasons. After a season each with Houston and Gotham, it appears she’s found the perfect situation with her hometown team in Utah. This was not a fluke goal where Tucker was trying to put a cross into the box. This is a world-class finish where she took the defender on and picked her head up to see where the goalie was. Then Tucker got her feet set with some great footwork and went for it. The angle to score was never in her favor, but Tucker bet on herself and took the chance anyway. This is the type of goal that gets you noticed. This season, Cameron Tucker will be a bright spot for the Utah Royals.
