Emily Gielnik has been an A-League star for more than a decade and is showing no signs of slowing down. This is quite the way to open your goal-scoring account for a new team. The Melbourne Victory will be thrilled to see Gielnik produce something like this.

The striker fooled one defender with a quick hesitation move and dip of the shoulder. Then with a defender on her back, she still had the awareness and confidence to go for goal from long range. From the moment it left her foot, you knew it had a chance to find the net, and it nestled right into the top corner. A great goal to kick off this list.

This goal is for all the goalies who are great with their feet. Distribution from goalkeepers and how they pass with their feet isn’t talked about enough. The long ball from Rachel Laws is what set this entire play into motion. Sophie Román Haug did well to attack the ball at its highest point to flick the ball onto Melissa Lawley. Lawley did the rest with a thumping finish that cleared the keeper’s head, went off the crossbar, and in. A lovely team goal from Liverpool, who went the length of the field in about 7 seconds. Southampton learned that Ella Toone is not the kind of player who can be afforded any extra space. If so, she’s going to make you pay.

That’s exactly what happened here as Toone picked up the ball outside the box. Southampton’s defenders were slow to react, and by the time they did, it was too late. Toone had already taken a touch to line up the shot before ripping it into the far corner, the ball moved away from the keeper showing how cleanly Toone struck it.

Manchester United need to do everything they can to keep Toone, she’s vital for the team’s success.

Chelsea’s newest record signing has come in and already made a splash for the Blues. Someone has to pick up the goal-scoring slack with Sam Kerr out, and Mayra Ramírez seems poised to pick up that mantle.

This is just a sneak peek of what she can do. What makes this flick-on even more impressive is that the ball is actually bouncing before the flick-on. That’s an extra adjustment that the human eye has to make in a split second, and Ramírez did it effortlessly, all while calmly guiding the ball into the net. Manchester City’s signing of Yui Hasegawa from West Ham went under the radar but not anymore. Hasegawa showed off her technique with this superb long-distance effort. The Japanese international was fluid in her movement as she opened her hips up after settling the ball in front of her. Once her body opened up towards the goal, she elegantly swung her foot through the ball, which flew off the crossbar and in. It’s a beautiful goal that’s easy on the eye because of how smooth Yui Hasegawa is. She’s very much underrated.
