5. Bella Anderson – Idaho State Bengals

Idaho State picked up a huge win over Portland State this past week, and Bella Anderson played a huge role in it. The junior scored her first goal of the season, and it was quite the time to do it. This long-range effort put the game away. Anderson looked like she was going to put the ball into the box but, at the last second, saw the keeper out of position. The center back let it rip from distance and got a little help from the crossbar, but there was nothing the keeper could do. Thatโ€™s a goal that Idaho State will have saved in the archives to bring back for years to come.

4. Sofia Bush – Iowa Hawkeyes

Iowa was on a two-game skid coming into their match against Maryland, and they were looking to put an end to it. The Hawkeyes did that and more with a 5-0 win over the Terrapins.

The first year Sofia Bush didn’t have much room as the defender stepped into her space to block the shot. That didnโ€™t deter her from taking the shot. It curled around the defender and looped over the keeper while perfectly nestling into the top corner. Itโ€™s hard to strike a ball better than that. Thatโ€™s some high-level technique from a first-year player.

3. Martha Harris – Birmingham City

Martha Harris showed everyone why sheโ€™s a WSL-level player playing in the Championship. Harris is a defender, but this was the finish of a strikerโ€“a one-hit wonder that caught everyone off guard.

The defender was right in her face, but Harris felt the ball sit up for her nicely and let it fly without taking a touch. The ball flew into the top corner and left everyone stunned at how it went in. Birmingham City would win 4-0 on the road. This goal was the icing on the cake.

2. Grace Clinton – Tottenham Hotspur

This was an absolute banger of a goal from Grace Clinton. Itโ€™s decisive and direct play at its finest.

From the moment she completes her turn, she has one thought on her mind, and thatโ€™s to go for goal. There were two defenders in the vicinity, and both dared her to shoot since they didnโ€™t fully put pressure on the ball. That allowed Clinton to line up her shot and find the back of the net spectacularly.

This goal was huge as it helped Tottenham secure a 3-1 win over Brighton and move up to fourth in the league table.

1. Sydney Leroux – Angel City

Angel City had a magical Sunday that saw them beat the Thorns 5-1 and get into the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Everything that could have possibly gone right for ACFC did.

The game was already at 3-0 and seemed over, but Sydney Lerouxโ€™s goal added to the pandemonium. Bella Bixby managed to get her hands on the cross that game in, but it fell right into the area of Leroux.

The athleticism, creativity, and improvisation to execute a bicycle kick like that is of such a high level. BMO Stadium entered a state of pandemonium, and having been in the crowd myself, it was one of the loudest and most electric crowds youโ€™ll ever hear or see. It was an incredible day for Angel City, and this goal was the best part of it.
