There are so many different soccer clubs in the nation, more than 10,000, to give you an idea. Some have made a clear name for themselves based on their coaching staff. Other teams are well-known based on famous former players.
If you don’t keep up with club soccer on a regular basis, it may be hard to tell which teams are at the top. Each month, rankings of soccer clubs by age group come out, U13 to U18. To make it onto the list of top 25 teams in the nation, clubs don’t just have to be good; they have to be the best! Here are some of the girl’s soccer clubs that are consistently at the top in each U.S. region.
Solar SC – South
What is a list of best clubs without Solar SC? The Texas-based club ranks in the top three for all age groups except one, where it still ranks in the top ten. They are a powerhouse club that has consistently stayed top-ranked, and that doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
Tophat SC – Southeast
Like many other clubs on the list, this Atlanta-based club is ranked in the nation’s top 25 for all age groups. They have won 6 ECNL Southeast Conference Titles so far and have had several players called up to various U.S. Youth National Teams.
Michigan Hawks – North
The female-focused club has found the secret to success, producing several NWSL players and 113 USYNT players over the years. Their director of coaching, Michele Krzisnik, played for the club herself and became the only female director of coaching back in 2019. The Hawks have steadily remained one of the top clubs in the nation with their winning formula.
Internationals SC – North
Based in Ohio, Internationals SC has won more State, Regional, and National Titles than any other girls club in Northeast Ohio. In addition, more than 95 percent of their players go on to play collegiately, and several even play for various U.S. Youth National Teams.
Crossfire Premier SC – Northwest
Based in Washington state, Crossfire Premier SC has consistently had over 15 players a year play collegiately. In addition, several NWSL, USYNT, and European league players have come out of this club for both girls’ and boys’, including Lindsay Elston, who played for the Houston Dash.
F.C. Stars of Massachusetts – Northeast
Founded in 2000, this club hasn’t been around as long as some of the others on the list. However, they quickly became a strong club, ranking in the top ten for some age groups. Over the past 15 years, the club has won 32 State Championships.
San Diego Surf – West
With 11 National Championships and over 150 players representing our country’s National team, the San Diego Surf is among the best in the West. Recent USWNT addition, Taylor Kornieck, is just one of the big names to come out of the club, but it’s probably safe to anticipate many more.
Slammers FC HB Koge – West
Another California club on the list, Slammers F.C., has partnered with the Danish HB Koge. The club aims to create a youth-to-pro experience with a pathway to play in Europe. The Slammers are already well-known for producing NSWL and USWNT players; by the way this club ranks, they will likely continue to do so.
St. Louis Scott Gallagher – Midwest
Founded in 2007, Missouri-based SLSG brought three soccer groups together to form the club in an effort to better serve the St. Louis community. They are currently ranked in the top 25 in all but one age group, which is no surprise as their mission is “to be the best club in the country.”
N.C. Courage – East
Since the club’s start, the NCFC Youth team has kept an impressive record of placing 100 percent of its players who desire to play at the collegiate level in D1 to D3 programs. No shock there since they have the winning combination of a youth-to-pro pathway and excellent coaching staff (looking at you, Cindy Cone!).
Colorado Rush – Central
Though Real Colorado is a common name among club teams, the Colorado Rush club has been ranking in the top 25 for almost every age group as well. Notably, USWNT star, Lindsey Horan, played for the club before becoming one of the youngest players to join the U-17 USWNT.
