With women’s soccer gaining popularity, celebrities are turning into fans themselves and we love to see it. Here are the celebrities who have made it known they’re big women’s soccer fans:

In 2015, Beyonce posted a picture of herself wearing a custom USWNT jersey during the World Cup final. Her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, also wore a matching custom jersey.

Fergie also posted a photo of herself celebrating the USWNT’s 2015 win on Instagram. She clearly remained a fan throughout the years, as she tweeted her support of the team in 2019, as well.

The week after the 2015 World Cup final, Taylor Swift invited the USWNT to join her on stage. In 2019, after receiving a Teen Choice Award from Alex Morgan, Swift urged the audience in her acceptance speech to support the USWNT’s fight for equal pay.

After their game against France in 2019, Oprah posted a video of herself kicking a soccer ball and cheering on Team USA in a custom jersey with her name on the back on Twitter.ย

In February 2021, Chelsea Clinton and Jenna Bush invested in the Washington Spirit. The former first daughters were joined by former U.S. World Cup goalkeeper Brianna Scurry and former Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes.

Actress Natalie Portman, along with other A-list investors, founded a new NWSL team in L.A. called Angel City FC that will join the league in 2022. Other celebrity investors include actresses Uzo Abudo, Jessica Chastain, America Ferrera, Jennifer Garner, and Eva Longoria, and former U.S. Women’s National Team players Joy Fawcett, Julie Foudy, Mia Hamm, and Abby Wambach.
You don’t have to be into pop culture or a fan to appreciate what celebrity attention on social media and their financial support do not just for the USWNT or the teams they invest in, but for women’s soccer at every level.
