Transfer of the Weekend

Two massive transfers happened this week, with Lynn Williams heading to Gotham FC and Diana Ordonez heading to Houston. On her Instagram she expressed her shock at the trade but is looking forward to her new team. Courage captain Abby Erceg tweeted her disappointment in her teammate’s trade. The Courage will definitely have their work cut out for them after losing Debinha and their rookie star.

The Current looks quite a bit different from last year, and they looked surprisingly good last year. With the addition of Debinha, Michelle Cooper, and a couple of players from the Chicago Red Stars, the Current looks like they’ll contend for the NWSL title again.

Plus, last week, the team gained another member to their ownership group. Owner Brittany Mahomes’s husband and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has joined in to make it a family affair!
