The NWSL Challenge Cup is back underway, and it was a fun week around the league. This weekโs games brought a new meaning to โfast startsโ and many goals. The NWSL also announced the broadcast season for the regular season. So hereโs this weekโs womenโs soccer news.ย

Scoring early was a theme in the NWSL this week. First, OL Reign broke the record for the fastest three goals scored from kickoff with three in the first 11 minutes in their 3-1 victory over San Diego. Then, just two days after the Reign set the record, the North Carolina broke it, scoring three in nine minutes on their way to a big 3-2 win over the Orlando Pride.ย
Low of the Week
Okay @CBSSports, what gives?
Only two regular season NWSL games will get the network treatment this year, down from four in 2021
The decrease comes in spite of the almost 500k (!) who tuned in to San Diego Wave FCโs win over Angel City FC on CBS earlier this month
— The GIST USA (@thegistusa) April 16, 2022
The league announced its full broadcast schedule with the NWSL regular season fast approaching. Unfortunately, there are only three games on CBS, one of those being the 2022 championship. CBS Sports Network will air 11 matches while the others will be shown on Paramount+ and Twitch. Only three games on national television is a major letdown.ย
