Get those tissues out for Cancer season, wave your rainbow flags, and enjoy the long days of summer โ weโre here at the end of June. This weekend in Woso was packed to the brim with NWSL games, offseason news, and more. Letโs dive into the latest women’s soccer news.
High of the Weekend
For the first time in its history, Chelsea has announced that upcoming season tickets have sold out. The news comes off the back of a stellar 2020/21 campaign for the Blues in which they won the Community Shield, Continental League Cup, the Barclays FA Womenโs Super League title, and appeared in the UEFA Champions League final.ย
The 2021/22 FAWSL season is set to begin on September 3rd.ย
Low of the Weekend
In the new movie โLFGโ, there is a concerning level of dishonesty about U.S. Soccer and the USWNTโs compensation that we feel must be addressed. Specifically, lawyer Jeffrey Kessler presents a misleading and inaccurate account of the facts.

US Soccerโs really inappropriate, bizarre and just generally eye-roll-worthy Twitter thread in response to the new USWNT documentary,ย LFG.ย
Player of the Weekend
Just a couple of days after learning she didnโt make the Olympic roster, Lynn Williams has just been focusing on doing the things Lynn Williams does best. Namely, scoring goals. Williams scored both of NC Courageโs goals in the teamโs 2-0 win against Racing Louisville on Wednesday. She then scored a brace against Portland on Saturday in another 2-0 win.ย
