This past weekend was a long one here in the states as we paid tribute to Labor Day. And, well, it’s a pretty good thing we had that extra time because there was a lot to process in the world of WoSo–from the start of the FAWSL and the Primera División to some drama in the NWSL (what’s new these days?). Let’s dive into women’s soccer news.

I’m gonna go with something that just made me grin ear-to-ear (and maybe maniacally laugh a bit). How ’bout these responses from Sky Sports’ social media folk? Brilliant.
Fail of the Weekend
The NWSL championship is scheduled to kickoff at 9AM… yes you read that right. Insane.
Needs to change, simply unacceptable. And if you don’t know why, you’re part of the problem.

How’s a girl to choose between the NWSL Championship being scheduled at 9 am local time, the Spirit-Reign game being canceled because of positive COVID tests, and the whole dumpling party debacle? I simply can’t.
Player of the Weekend
Beth Mead. On Sunday, the England midfielder came up incredibly clutch, scoring a brace in Arsenal’s massive opening day win over crosstown rivals and defending FAWSL champs Chelsea.
