Win of the Weekendย
Last night, Puerto Rico came from behind to seal a 2-1 win over Panama in the W Gold Cup. The result is arguably the biggest in the history of the Puerto Rican national team: their 1st group stage win in their 1st appearance at a major tournament. ๐ต๐ท๐ต๐ท๐ต๐ทpic.twitter.com/htNsa2GIP6

Puerto Rico came from behind to beat Panama with a last-minute goal. This is huge news since itโs Puerto Ricoโs first showing and first win at an international tournament of this caliber against a FIFA-ranked No. 55 Panamanian team.ย
Goal of the Weekendย

Jaedyn Shawโs second goal against Argentina was an absolute banger. Her ability to volley Lavelleโs cross before it even hits the ground is incredible.ย

Midge Purce was an assist machine in the USWNTโs first Gold Cup match against the Dominican Republic, netting two assists. She consistently put herself in the right positions and her performance speaks to why Purce deserves a spot on this competitive USWNT.ย
Player of the Weekendย
We need to highlight Sydney Martinez, Puerto Ricoโs goalkeeper. She had a stellar performance in both the teamโs matches against Brazil and Panama, but her game against Brazil was something else. She made eight saves, and kept Brazil to only one goal.ย
