Girls Soccer Network is so excited to launch our newest program: Soccerista United (SU). This program allows young socceristas to grow their game by being mentored by elite college athletes from across the country.
Girls Soccer Network has gathered ten experienced D1 athletes who perform not only on the field but in the classroom and community to teach the future generation about aspects of the game not typically covered in practice. This includes the doโs and dontโs of ID camps, creating confidence and empowerment,ย and staying in shape for the offseason!ย
In this program, girls will be matched with a college player from their geographic region and build a relationship with the college athlete as well as other girls on their SU team (approximately 7-10 girls on a team). The program is specifically tailored for girls ages ten to 15 and will be a combination of small group meetings and one-on-one time with your Squad Captain (the college players).ย
Each month there will be a different theme that all of the programs will be centered around. The month will start with a SU team meeting, led by the Squad Captain, where the topic of the month is taught and small group discussions take place. The following week will be a 1-on-1 session between the soccerista and Squad Captain to further grow this personal relationship, offer specialized advice, and work on goal setting as well as other aspects of the game.ย
During the month, SU members will have access to Girls Soccer Network’s newly launched badge system. These badges cover three categories: serious skills, student of the game, and ultimate teammate. The categories focus on developing a player on the field, classroom, and community, and are filled with fun assignments, challenges, and soccer lessons that are developed and taught by the college athletes themselves!
The college athletes chosen attend schools across the country spanning from Stanford University to reigning NCAA D1 National Champions Florida State University. There is representation from the Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, and Ivy League. The college athletes will also be making income from this experience through NIL contracts.
This opportunity is available for a $30 a month subscription and is open now until June 1. After that date, we will start accepting socceristas for session two starting July 1. In the future, we will be offering scholarships for interested girls who may not be able to afford this program, stay tuned for updates on this manner.ย
Soccerista United is an exciting opportunity for young socceristaโs to grow their game and learn from the best and we are so excited to launch this.
